Marko Ahtisaari is a visionary technology entrepreneur and designer. From 2009-2013 he was executive vice president of design at Nokia, responsible for both hardware and user interface design. He is credited for introducing the award-winning Lumia line of smartphones, the Nokia N9, and the Nokia Asha. Previously, Marko was CEO and Co-founder of Dopplr (acquired by Nokia in 2009) and part of the founding team at Blyk, the free ad-funded mobile network. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Ahtisaari was director of design strategy at Nokia. Born in Finland, Marko studied philosophy, economics, and music at Columbia University, where he became a lecturer and Fellow of the Faculty in the Department of Philosophy. Marko has also played music professionally as a bassist and composer.
